Academic Profile 

Grzegorz Masik is a PhD of Earth Sciences in the field of geography, he is an intern at the Euroreg and employed at the University of Gdańsk in the Department of Social and Economic Geography. He is a graduate of MA studies in geography (University of Gdańsk) and engineering studies in geodesy and spatial information systems (University of Warmia and Mazury). Grzegorz Masik's doctoral dissertation, supervised by prof. Iwona Sagan, concerned the impact of local policy on the conditions and quality of life in the suburban area of the Tri-City. In 2010, he received an award for his doctoral dissertation by the Gdańsk Scientific Society and the President of the City of Gdańsk. As part of his professional work, his activities included the implementation of projects, including for the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, the Marshal's Office of the Pomeranian Voivodeship or the Gdynia City Hall. These projects concerned welfare institutions, human capital, suburbanization, migration and living conditions. As part of international research, he carried out projects for the OECD on aging of the population and green skills in the blue economy in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, as well as for ESPON on the economic crisis and resilience of regions. He is currently conducting research on the resilience of local and regional governments in Poland.
