Academic Profile 

Jakub holds PhD in Economics (2021) from the Instute of Rural and Agricultural Development, Polish Academy of Sciences. In his doctoral thesis he investigated the socio-environmental costs of development.

He received his BA degrees in environment protection and geography from the College of Inter-Faculty Individual Studies in Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Warsaw and, in 2012, his MA degree in regional studies from the Center for European Regional and Local Studies (EUROREG), University of Warsaw. In his MA thesis he proposed the Local sustainable development index for Poland. He started working for EUROREG in 2010. Earlier, he was an assistant to the coordinator at the Academy of Evaluation of Socio-Economic Development Programs. He has been engaged in a range of national and international research projects. He has implemented projects commissioned by the following institutions: World Bank, United Nations Development Programme, European Commission, Chancellery of a Prime Minister of Poland, National Science Center, Educational Research Institute, Polish Rectors Foundation, Warsaw Municipality. He has conducted his research in Poland, Germany and UK. In 2019 he was a visiting scholar (PhD student) at the Utrecht University. He took part in several international conferences in Poland, Iceland, Spain, Germany and Turkey.
